Tail Lights Wont Turn Off
Got home and parked and locked the truck for the night the red portions of the taillights and the truck bed light won t go off.
Tail lights wont turn off. Later that evening went to store and came out to find the red portion of the tail lights and the truck bed light on. I let the lights turn off automatically and the tail lights stay on. When i hit the fuse cover panel about in the middle under the steering wheel they will turn off then when the wind blows or something the lights turn back on. I have to disconnect the battery or it will drain.
My tail lights stay on even after car is off. I did have to replace the battery not too long ago. I have even thought my own body energy turns these on its baffling. I have a 2000 rodeo that won t shut off when i turn the key off the engin keeps running until i pull the ignition fuse and pull the terminal on the battery.
After i pull the term the dash lights. The hazard lights and turning signals all work but the brake lights do not. I had to disconnect the battery in order to turn them off. The tail lights turned on all by themselves and would not turn off.
The car is seldom used keeping it for my boys that will be driving soon and was parked at the time. I tried pulling the fuse and that didn t kill the lights. Thought maybe i d not locked it correctly or something. If the tail lights turn off the switch is likely faulty and the light plug assembly might need to be.
I am having the same issue with my tail lights turning on at random times when the jeep is ignition is off. My car has 120000 miles. Sometimes trailer light plugs can corrode and cause the tail lights to stay on. If the tail lights are illuminated even.
Then if your vehicle has a trailer light plug disconnect the switch.
