Lights out review. The remaining album is in a similar vein with layers of pop and big time power ballads thrown in the mix. There s a memorable monster peekaboo scares but crucially a spiky. Lights out makes skillful use of sturdy genre tropes and some terrific performances for an unsettling fright filled experience that delivers superior chills without skimping on story. But lights out was so much fun i couldn t look away.

Though it occasionally gets bogged down in an on the nose screenplay lights out is an otherwise quite relentless horror flick that plays on basic childhood terrors with efficiency. Lights out is a fun little film with a nice amount of depth that you don t usually find in many mainstream horror films nowadays. It has a strong chill factor but a somewhat average formula and it could have used fewer back story explanations to make it more mysterious especially since those elements did not feel original.
