The likely culprit in this case is a hot contact at the bottom of the socket that doesn t have the flexibility to spring back out and stays collapsed or remains bent in preventing it from touching the end of the light. A fourth problem encountered especially when dealing with low quality sockets is a replacement light bulb failing to turn on. Compare the wattage on the light bulb with the rating printed on the light fixture.

Either it s turned on. Install a lower wattage lightbulb if necessary. Leave your chromebook plugged in for 3 5 hours and try turning it on again. If you don t see a light try using a different charger.

After toggling the switch several times leave it off for at least 30 seconds before turning it on a final time to rest the light completely. If the switch has felt funny recently or failed to turn the light on or off occasionally it s probably a bad switch. Depending on the manufacturer you should see a solid blue or orange light while your chromebook is charging.
