Check Gages Light
The check gages light comes on a few minutes after a cold start then stays on even when you shut the truck down and remove key it stays on for a while after.

If the gauge is dropping all the way to the left cold it is likely due to an open circuit with the engine coolant temperature ect sensor. The check gauge light is located on the dashboard. An example would be your oil pressure gage falls below the normal range. All gauges are acting normal.
The check gages warning light is distinct from the check engine light cel and only comes on if the oil pressure or coolant temperatures are approaching a danger zone. Also if your check gauges light has come on the one of the gauges is not indicating the correct information such as your battery gauge may be reading a low voltage or the speedometer may not be indicating the correct speed that you are actually going. Or a charge indicator gage falls below or above spec. Gauges that usually make up the panel watch the amount of oil gas and battery power in addition to the engine.
The check gage light is intended to come on when one of the gages are reading less or more than it should be while in use. After about 30 secs of being on the temp gauge returns to normal 180 195ish and the check gauges light goes off. Recently it has been going out after truck reaches operating temp will stay off for about 5 minutes then come back.
